Take me out to the ball game..
A few weeks ago Deke and I went to the Bee's game with our neighbors. The boys didn't quite come away with a win, but it was a good game nonetheless. My favorite part? They were blaring music and filming people in the stands dancing when all of a sudden, Deke and I found ourselves up on the big screen. Deke, being the quick thinker that he is, grabbed my waist, threw me into a dip and planted a big smackaroo right on the lips. The whole stadium errupted in cheering and clapping. What a rush..

Houston, do you copy?
So, last month I 'had' to go to Houston for some training. What's so great about Houston you ask? Nope, not the charming southern drawl ya'll speak with down there, nor the mounds of tex-mex or steak (although consensus says this comes in at a close second). It's the home of Matt and Annie Dent. Yup, my sister's clan moved to Houston last summer and it just so happened that they live in the city of my company's corporate headquarters. It was sooo much fun!! I had a blast. Here are some pics of what we did..
Don't tell Deke, but I found me a real nice cowboy to keep me company:

How I spent my perfect 80 degree Saturday the day it was snowing at home:

One of my favorite parts of the trip was going down to the Kemah board walk right on the shore of the Gulf. Here's Kayla and I watching the boats come in:

This next picture cracks me up everytime I see it. This beauty of a boat is named 'THE BEAST'. It's advertised as the scariest, most thrilling, super fast roller coaster of the sea, so Annie and I decided to see if we could brave this nautical warrior. It didn't quite live up to expectations, but it was still a lot of fun. Basically, picture a very large speed boat coasting a-long at a nice even pace and every once in a while turning a little to the left or right to spray some unsuspecting patrons with a mouth full of water. Now maybe it's because I grew up boating that the thrill wasn't too, well, thrilling, but there were others on it that I don't think had ever stepped foot on a boat. My favorite was this huge black (or is it african american? I'm never really sure what's politically correct anymore)guy sitting in the very front row of the boat. He was LOVIN' life. He had his hands in the air whoopin' and a hollerin' over every little bump and dancing to the music blaring from the speakers. Folks, that's entertainment. Anyways, here's the beauty of a beast herself:

The second best thing about Texas is the food. Can any of you steak lovers out there tell me this doesn't look mouth watering? (Sorry the picture turned out a tad blury). Go Taste of Texas!!

Other favorite foods were tex-mex, blue bell cake batter ice cream, and the best shaved ice I've ever, ever had. Yes. It even beats Matsumoto's on the North Shore. I absolutely loved my time down there! Thanks Matt and Annie for letting me come hang out with you!
