A little, bitty favor...

So, I have one little, tiny request to make from all ya’ll.

In contrast to most of our generation, Deke and I are not…(take a deep breath please)…cell phone people. In fact, I just went 5 days with a dead cell phone just because I kept forgetting to recharge it. To me, it’s not really a necessity. I know this can cause lots of frustration from family and friends who try and get a hold of us. If you leave a message I will more than likely get back to you. I promise. If you really, really need to get a hold of me you are always more than welcome to drop me a line via email. This is probably the quickest way to get in touch with me between the hours of 7:00 and 3:00, and I most often check it once during the evening as well.

I know. I can’t help it – I’m just not a phone person. But, here’s where my request comes in…..

Please, please, please don’t text us. Our cell plan doesn’t include texting, and so we get charged for every text you lovingly send us or we send you (oh wait…maybe this is why we never reply to your texts.. ;) ) We know it’s quick. It’s easy. It’s a tad irresistible. But please, for the sake of the budget nazi (yours truly), resist. Just pick up the phone and give us a call. In contrast to our nonexistent text plan, we have unlimited minutes so we can talk to our hearts content.

Peace out.

What were you doing 10 years ago?

Just about ready to start 8th grade at Farmington Junior High. Most people I’ve found have a strong dislike for Junior High, but I actually loved it! (except for 7th grade.. bad memories of being jammed in a locker, but that’s another story); Family vacation back east to Church and U.S. History sites; laying out at Summerset Pool; night games with Aubrey Wilkensen and Jason Fry; trying out for Utah Youth Symphony – Sarah and I both made it but we would always ditch, get a bagel at Einsteins and find some deserted classroom at the U to eat it in while Mer and Amanda would actually go to practice(wow, talk about a run on sentence); loving Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On"; many, many sleepovers at Sarah’s; Cheer and Dance classes at Luv 2 Dance; Trudging up and down Summerset Hill every day to the bus stop; spying on my sister’s door step scenes; stealing all of her cd’s; finally being able to buy a few clothes in the Junior’s department instead of the children’s;

2. Losing my keys

One bad habit that you've changed...

Flossing my teeth: I used to never floss my teeth growing up. It’s a modern day wonder I didn’t get more cavities than I did. Having an extremely painful root canal a couple years ago(we’re talking 5 shots in one tooth and I still felt the digging) definitely changed my flossing habit. I now floss every night. In fact, that root canal experience was so terrible I haven’t been back to the dentist since. I know. I know. I really need to, but I’m hoping this whole flossing thing will protect my teeth a little bit longer..
