we're living where and doing what?? check out the new blog

so someday in the hopefully near future i hope to catch up on all of the little nitty gritty details that have transpired in the last month. what a whirlwind. but in the mean time, i have some news! i've started a new blog called

jen in the wilderness

located at, you guessed it....

there i hope to document all of the crazy little details about our new gig. i thought i'd start out with a q&a post with more details about the job and where we'll be living. i'll still update this blog every once in a while with things like reese updates and random 'mom' ramblings, but for the most part, jen in the wilderness will be the place to be for the most current info on the jenerek clan.

So if you want to, check it out, add me to your blogroll or maybe even follow! or don't, but uh.. do. (name that movie. first one wins extra favorite points from me.) enjoy!

happy autumn and conference weekend everyone!!

signing out for a week or two

so we're in full blown moving mode around the jenerek household. it is cr-aaaaaa-zy.

quite honestly, between the stress of this last year and then the sudden "we're moving right. now." fiasco, i'm really surprised my body hasn't spontaneously combusted. i wish i was joking.

to go from such a high negative stress situation then to have the pendulum swing so far into the positive stress zone so quickly has been nothing less then dizzying.  the roller coaster of life is in full service. please fasten your seatbelt.

so for now, i'm signing out. i know, you, my adoring public {all 5 of you} will wait on pins and needles for the much anticipated return {she says sarcastically}. when i come back you may expect posts about the following:

reese's 12 month post
her first birthday
q&a about the new job
a tour of the new home
and just a general update about the crazyness of the past couple weeks. like i said before, cr-aaaaa-zy.

so until then, adieu.

adieu.

and adieu.

have those awful metal mini blinds and don't know what to do?

design by Coddington Design, via Desire to Inspire via littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com

my new double wide does, and they look a little less than homey.

i found this link, from littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com, and it has quite possibley changed my life. and i dare say that if you have mini blinds, it will change yours too.

it shows you how to make no-sew roman blinds from your existing ugly metal mini blinds. i'm sure it would work great too with faux wood blinds.

do you realize what this means? i can use curtains and fabric glue that i already have at home and with a little bit of ribbon trim... custom roman shades for literally a few bucks. boo-ya.

i'll let you know how it goes once i actually move in and make them.

bad day: updated

deek's been gone since last night painting our new awesome double wide. which leaves me to take care of a 1 year old, house train and care for a very energetic new puppy, start packing up the house, show our home to possible renters, keep our house clean for possible renters, sell/buy a bunch of stuff off of ksl classifieds, and still work from home for my job. awesome.

reese woke up with an awful cold.

i can't find my vpn token which allows me to work from home. hoping i left it in the car that deek took with him. too bad it's 2 hours away and he doesn't receive cell service there. i have to turn it in tomorrow since it's my last day (wahoo!), and of course, if i can't find it, i have to pay $150 to replace it. heavy sigh...

reese threw deek's super nice SLR camera off the desk onto the wood floor. it shattered his nicest lens. dang it.

reese and I were playing chop, chop timber on my bed (which is now off of it's frame, thank goodness) and she accidentally did a back flip off of it. she screamed and screamed and screamed. double dang it.

too bad it's only 10:00am.

update: turns out, the worst of the day happened all before 10:00am. whew! sure, i didn't get much done between shortened naps, crying babies, doggy potty outings, and work, but hey! no one died and nothing else was broken. in my book, that's called a success.

i hope it didn't sound like i was complaining. yes, it was a bad morning, but i'd rather live this day 20 zillion times over than have my husband unemployed. compared to life 1 month ago, today was a walk in the park. after all, all this chaos only means 1 thing: we're moving forward! and i have a beautiful baby girl! and a zesty snuggly dog! and a healthy, working husband! yup. there's still much to be happy about.
